Students from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education at the Dr.ª Laura Ayres and D. Dinis School Groups, in Quarteira, are being challenged to design a new mascot for the local Swimming School. The initiative is open to students from 5th to 9th grade, who are able to win seasons of free access to the swimming pools in this parish of Loulé.

The drawing competition «The Mascot of the Swimming School of Quarteira» was launched by the Municipality of Loulé, which intends, with the initiative, to «encourage students to develop and value technical and creativity skills through drawing». But the main objective, as the name of the competition indicates, is “to select the design that can originate the future mascot of the Swimming School”.

Students will be able to submit their ideas until the 17th of March to the representative of the group of schools, and the drawings can be made with different materials.

The works in the competition will be announced on the 20th of May, at the Municipal Swimming Pools in Quarteira. The winners of the awards will also be revealed, which are a free annual fee in the pools (1st prize), a free semester (2nd) and two months of access to this sports infrastructure without paying (3rd).
