At USF Lauroé, in Loulé, water entered one of the offices, at USF Albufeira, two spaces were affected, a situation that led to «users complaining in the yellow book for being treated in these conditions», according to the union.

The trade unionists in the Algarve consider it “inadmissible” to subject users and health professionals to these conditions, “in a physical space that should be an example of promoting their health”.

"These two USF operate in containers that have been degrading over the years, which is why they suffer water infiltration that compromises the electrical system and the operation of telephones, as well as the integrity of equipment, including computer equipment", illustrated the SEP.

The images sent by the union members reflect this reality well (see photo gallery). Health professionals working at their desks, with umbrellas in hand, leak marks, buckets and plastic scattered around offices are some of the problems registered.

“Some employees have been complaining of allergic reactions of the respiratory and dermatological nature, which they attribute to the thermal/acoustic insulation of the container, which is rotten, as they say”, guaranteed the union.

For the SEP, «the ARS Algarve Occupational Health service lacks the necessary and sufficient human resources to survey the risks to which professionals are exposed in their workplace, as well as the preparation of a proposal for the necessary preventive measures, which it is up to the ARS to guarantee'.

"The lack of an occupational doctor does not guarantee workers surveillance appointments, as well as health examinations, which are mandatory by law every 2 years", he concluded.
