The national project «Semear o Boccia», which aims to raise awareness of the regular practice of this modality, will be presented on Tuesday, November 8, at the Dr. José de Sousa Pires Municipal Pavilion, in São Brás de Alportel.

In addition to the presentation of the project, there will also be a training action that "aimed at providing as many technicians as possible with essential tools and knowledge for the promotion and dissemination of this modality".

In this sense, the initiative is aimed at sports technicians, municipal technicians, teachers from associations, clubs, Private Social Solidarity Institutions, volunteers, as well as the entire population in general.

According to the City Council of São Brás, the presentation and training action of the «Semear o Boccia» project «continues a sports strategy that defends sport for all and sees the regular practice of physical activity as fundamental to the well-being and quality of life of all São Brasenses, regardless of limitations or deficiencies».

What is Boccia?

Boccia is a sport (re) known for the achievements and outstanding results of athletes with cerebral palsy and other severe motor disabilities, in international events, including the Paralympic Games.

On a daily basis, its regular practice is associated with a set of physical and psychological benefits that contribute to the health and well-being of its practitioners.
