Three schools of the Pinheiro and Rosa School Grouping, in Faro, will host two exhibitions on the «pioneers of scientific knowledge in the Algarve» and the exploration of the seabed. The initiative started in October and runs until December 22nd.
The exhibition on the «pioneers of scientific knowledge in the Algarve» is «produced jointly by ten institutions belonging to the Algarve Museum Network», says the Pinheiro e Rosa School and addresses 11 figures from the region with relevant legacies for scientific knowledge.
This exhibition is open from the 28th of October to the 19th of November at the Escola EB2,3 Poeta Emiliano da Costa, from the 21st of November to the 6th of December at the Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa and from the 7th of December to the 22nd of December at the EB2,3 Dr . Neves Junior.
The exhibition «Exploring the seabed – MeshAtlantic Project» can be seen in four languages (Portuguese, English, French and Spanish) and wants to show the «cartography of the habitats of the marine biodiversity of the European Atlantic Coast”.
To this end, it will use maps of the seabed from Brest to Cádiz and from Galway to Ponta Delgada that «reveal the result of a project developed over three years, by a group of 14 partner entities, with emphasis on the Fisheries Research Group of the Center for Marine Sciences (CCMAR) of the University of Algarve», explains the Pinheiro e Rosa School.
This exhibition has been open since November 7th at Escola EB2,3 Dr. Neves Júnior and ends on November 18th. From the 21st of November until the 6th of December this exhibition heads to EB2,3 Poet Emiliano da Costa. Finally, from December 7th to December 22nd it will be the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School.
These exhibitions are part of the activities developed by the Ciência Viva do Grouping Club.
