2016-277-Logo-human-HALTA human logo at the José Arcanjo Stadium will mark the International Day of the Disabled, which is celebrated on December 3rd. The initiative, scheduled for December 6, is promoted by the Disability Area of ACASO – Cultural and Social Support Association of Olhão.

This type of action has already taken place in 2014, when 1200 people formed a human logo on the lawn of the same stadium.

The Chamber of Olhão explains that “through the construction of a human logo that represents disability – a wheelchair – the action aims to raise awareness in the community about the issue of disability, promoting awareness of the dignity and rights of disabled citizens , as a way of guaranteeing their full integration into society”.

The local authority calls on those who want to participate in the initiative to wear a white blouse, "in order to be part of the giant logo".

The International Day of People with Disabilities is an international commemorative date promoted by the United Nations since 1998. In 2016, the theme is “Reaching 17 Goals for the Future We Want”, which calls attention to the 17 goals of sustainable development of the UN and how these goals can create a more inclusive and equitable world for people with disabilities.
