The WATT Project? will create a Community Mural in Figueira, tomorrow, Saturday, the 17th of September, on the wall of the Polidesportivo da Figueira, in the municipality of Portimão.
This initiative is part of the XVII Youth Week of Mexilhoeira Grande and also includes a workshop, taking place this Friday, aimed at presenting the project with examples of public art.
Young people who participate in this activity are also given notions of techniques for spray e stencil, by the initiative's supervisor, the artist Xana. Finally, there will be a collective discussion of ideas for the design of the mural and the beginning of the development of the basic ideas for the intervention.
This Saturday, the mural will be painted from 15:00 pm to 22:00 pm. The initiative results from a partnership between the the WATT? project, the Creative Activities Laboratory (LAC) and the EDP Foundation Public Art program, with a maximum limit of participants of 15 people over 14 years old.
In addition to this activity, WATT? will promote other initiatives during the months of September and October. So, from the 22nd to the 24th of September, the artist Tiago Batista will be in São Bartolomeu de Messines to make an intervention in a public space.
Xana will also be in this village in the municipality of Silves, for a community intervention at Escola EB 2,3 in João de Deus, with students, teachers and parents.
For the 15th and 16th of October, a guided tour is reserved for all the interventions carried out within the scope of the WATT? project, which will create a itinerary including all the locations, with the participation of all the artists.
