Poster_2016_2017The Diocese of Algarve will present its pastoral program for 2016/2017, on October 1st, at the Diocesan Assembly, which will take place from 9:00 am at the Pastoral Center of Pêra.

For the pastoral action of 2016/2017, the Diocese of Algarve presents some proposals, such as «the promotion of training to be carried out through CEFLA – Center for Studies and Training for the Laity of the Algarve» or the «institution of the Diocesan Center for the Catechumenate of Adults ».

The Diocese also proposes the «Celebration of the Day of the Diocesan Church, on June 3, 2017, as a convergence of the path traveled», as well as «founding the Marian devotion and worship, considering that 43 of the 81 parishes in the Algarve have Our Lady as patroness».

The Sovereign Mother Sanctuary has not been forgotten either. The Diocese of Algarve wants to organize a "diocesan pilgrimage" to the Sanctuary in Loulé.

This presentation of the Pastoral Program will include the conference “Fatima, a window of hope for today's world”, presented by Sister Ângela Coelho, vice-postulator of the cause of canonization of Sister Lúcia.

In addition to the clergy, the meeting is aimed at representatives of parishes, sent by the respective parish priests, religious communities, all members of the Pastoral Council of the Diocese of Algarve, managers and teams from the various departments, secretariats, sectors of the Diocesan Pastoral Services and representatives of all movements and lay works.

This will be the fifth and final year of the Pastoral Program projected from 2012 to 2017, which will now be inspired by the example of Mary, being marked by the Centenary of the Apparitions of Fatima and supported by the proposals of the Marian sanctuary for this celebration.

Even so, guarantees the Diocese of Algarve, the general proposals, which come from 2012/2013, will be taken into account, as well as those resulting from the broad and participated study on the apostolic exhortation of Pope Francis «The gospel of joy» (The Joy of the Gospel), of the appeals that the visit of the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Fátima left in 2015 and of the surroundings of the Year of Mercy.
