Aimed at national and foreign tourists, these consultations contributed, according to the ARS, "to ensure greater and faster accessibility to local healthcare during the summer, avoiding a greater influx of people to hospital emergencies, which are sometimes unnecessary."

The Health and Extension Health Centers of Tavira (971) and Armação de Pêra (844) were the places with the highest number of visits during this period, followed by Quarteira (594), Vila Real de Santo António (533) and Altura ( 450).

The Tourist Consultation functioned between July 4th and September 18th, through the extension of service hours and reinforcement of complementary service consultations in the coastal municipalities where the greatest influx of tourists is usually registered: Sagres, Alvor, Carvoeiro, Armação de Pera, Albufeira, Quarteira, Almancil, Olhão, Tavira, Altura, Vila Real de Santo António and Alcoutim.

At the Beach Posts, provided in collaboration with the Red Cross, which aim to provide nursing health care and respond to clinical situations that can be treated on site, or, if necessary, refer the user to a health unit. more adequate health, 3908 treatments were performed.

Of these, 2808 consultations were due to spiderfish and insect bites, and there were also 1031 blood pressure measurements, 294 for administering injections and 279 blood glucose tests, with 113 referrals to other health units being recorded during this period.

The Beach Posts with the highest number of services during this summer were those from Monte Gordo (681), Manta Rota (660), Armacao de Pera (543) and Armona (424).

The Board of Directors of ARS Algarve highlights, in a press release, «the very positive results achieved by this initiative, both for citizens and for the health teams of the various units who, with their daily commitment and professionalism, contributed to ensuring a effective and efficient response from the operational point of view of all Health services in the Region».
