The real Ginger Ale, very fresh, with a very low alcohol content, less than 2 degrees, and a fragrant and peppery flavor of ginger, can be tasted at the Medieval Fair of Silves, until August 21st, at the stall. master brewers authors of Marafada.
Strictly speaking, Ginger Ale, as it is made with ginger, a root that came from Asia, would not have been consumed in Europe in the Middle Ages. But Ruben Pires and André Gonçalves decided, even so, to get down to work to recreate this refreshing and 100% natural drink, which has nothing to do – except in the name – with the one sold by a well-known international brand.
To make known this new drink, as well as its IPA beer (Indian Pale Ale) and the also new Stout, Marafada is in new area of the Medieval Fair, at Praça Al'Mutamid, in the riverside area of Silves, next to the tournament venue. Waiting for anyone who wants to try Ginger Ale, there's a 250 liter barrel, very fresh.
