Festa_Our Lady of the Incarnation_VRSAVila Real de Santo António celebrates, on the 3rd and 4th of September, the festivities in honor of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, patron saint of the city. In addition to the traditional procession and popular games, the poster includes a Fado show, musical entertainment and fireworks.

The festivities start on September 3rd, Saturday, with mass and novena, at 18 pm. At night, at Praça Marquês de Pombal, a Fado night, event that will feature the presence of fado singers Elsa Jerónimo, Nádia Catarro, Neusa Brito and Renato Nené.

The high point of the festivities takes place on Sunday, the 4th of September. After the popular traditional games and rowboat races, in the morning, at 18 pm, there is a traditional procession in honor of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, whose procession runs through the main arteries of Vila Real de Santo António.

In the evening, at 22 pm, in Praça Marquês de Pombal, the concert «Carla Sabino and André Ramos among friends» takes place, an initiative that has the special participation of João Frizza and Possessivo.

According to the Vila Real de Santo António Chamber, «the show will have “a taste of Portugal” and includes a varied repertoire, covering the country from Portuguese popular music to rock and rap».

The poster ends with a firework show at midnight on Avenida da República, next to the Guadiana River.

The festivals in honor of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação are organized by the local parish, the Municipality of VRSA, the VRSA SGU, the Parish Council of VRSA and the Fishermen Association of Santo António de Arenilha.
