Alcoutim's Festival returns to liven up the town from 9th to 11th September. Némanus (9th), Átoa (10th) and David Carreira (11th) are the musical headlines of this event.
On Friday, September 9, the event starts at 10:00 am with the official commemorations of the Municipality Day.
On the following day, on the 10th, the international football game (Alcoutim-Sanlúcar) is scheduled at 17:00. On the closing day, September 11th, the sporting activities begin with the 4th Cycling Test of the 1st Algarve Trophy “Cycling for all” followed, in the afternoon, by sporting activities on the Guadiana River, such as the crossing to swimming, the duck and the tallow stick.
Every day there will be a ball animated by the musical group Ganda Banda, street entertainment with groups Caprichosos and 300 and Friends, who perform in Praça da República, fireworks, a disco on the Vila pier to the rhythm of various DJs and, sunrise, will be distributed «the famous cocoa in the river, already a tradition in this event», reveals the Chamber of Alcoutim.
According to the local authority, "the usual adhesion of the public to this event, combined with a varied program prepared by the Municipality of Alcoutim, provide the best expectations for this event, with the Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Alcoutim, the beneficiary of the profits from the party."
