Beach 3The “Há UV na Praia” project will really advance. Geography teachers at the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Secondary School, in Portimão, secured the necessary funding and Praia da Rocha and Praia do Vau, from 1 August, will have flags warning bathers about the level of UV and what protection procedures to adopt. The Android application, which, among other features, sends alerts warning of changes in the level of UV rays, is also available on the Play Store.

The project was at risk of not moving forward, but «luckily we managed to get the money that was needed to have the flags, billboards and the materials that make it possible to fix them made. We contacted the Hospital Particular de Alvor, which was interested in establishing a protocol with our group and, with this sponsorship, we were able to cover the expenses and guarantee the iUV signage on the beach», revealed Elsa Condeço to Sul Informação.
