The best seafood from the Ria Formosa and other regional specialties made based on the recipes and traditions of the municipality of Faro can be tasted from tomorrow, 28th of July, in another edition of the Festa da Ria Formosa.
The event, which runs until August 7, has free entry and takes place in São Francisco Park, in Faro, every eleven days, between 19:00 and 01:00.
Daily entertainment will be guaranteed, as usual, by local and regional artists, starting tomorrow with the Bailasons group (see the full program below).
This is already the 23rd edition of an event organized by Vivmar – Association of Nurseries and Shellfish Collectors of Ria Formosa, an entity to which the City Council of Faro joins once more.
The party has been growing from year to year, which has led the organization to design a new, wider, but circumscribed space since 2014, which will be maintained this year with slight changes.
With the support of other entities in the municipality and the region, «this is a successful initiative, based on the capacity to attract and gather around those who genuinely work in and for the Ria Formosa», stresses the Chamber of Faro.
As the most popular gastronomic event in the county, the organization's expectation is that the 2016 edition will, once again, result in a high number of visitors – in 2015 around 70 thousand visitors visited there.
