HSGL mobile unit on the beachesThe Mobile Health Unit of the Hospital S. Gonçalo de Lagos is present, from the 23rd of July to the 21st of August, on the beaches of Barlavento Algarvio and Litoral Alentejano, to carry out free screenings and with interactive games for children.

Anyone who wants can take advantage of the trip to the beach to take blood pressure, blood glucose and body mass index assessments.

The younger ones are invited by Dr. Gonçalo, the hospital's mascot, to put “the human body in place”, through a fun and educational game.

There is a panel with the outline of the human body and several pieces with the different vital organs, and children are challenged to place the organs in the correct place. A fun way to teach and promote health.

The Hospital S. Gonçalo de Lagos, which belongs to the Portuguese healthcare group 4H, provides clinical services in the medical and surgical area, both in-patient and out-patient, also providing permanent service, external consultations and complementary means of diagnosis and treatment.

Currently, it offers 30 medical specialties and valences, emergencies, and 28 inpatient beds. It is aimed at the entire population, is accredited in the SIGIC network, and has agreements with most insurance companies and health subsystems.

Given the tourist characteristics of the region and the profile of the users who use the Hospital S. Gonçalo de Lagos, the doctors and nurses are fluent in foreign languages ​​and all the members of the clinical management speak fluent English.
