Beer lovers – and not only – returned to invade Jardim da Alameda, in Faro, on the first day of the second edition of Alameda Beer Fest. Beer is once again queen of the party, but these days, there is also a place for music, gastronomy, or handicrafts.
Paulo Santos, vice president of the Chamber of Faro, in statements to the Sul Informação, evaluated yesterday's day (and night) as “very good, the friendly, relaxed and friendly atmosphere that characterizes the Alameda Beer Fest was once again experienced. Brewers say that, in this second edition, people have a greater knowledge of what the craft beer world is».
If the 2015 edition, on the first day, had some problems with queuing to buy vouchers needed for consumption on the premises, this year the process is faster than the fact that food purchases are made in cash. “This year that issue was resolved. People no longer have to do the math on how many passwords they will need to eat, how much money, and that makes the process faster. For the same number of people we have fewer ticket sales outlets», explains Paulo Santos.
The entertainment at Jardim da Alameda is a constant, either with the performance of bands on both stages of the event, or with the street entertainment that, yesterday, was in charge of Funkarmónica.
Today, «a flood is expected with the performances of the Virgin Suta, Mario Spencer, or the Crassh», anticipates the councilor.
As for beers, there is something for all tastes: stout, blonde, or red, wheat or barley – and even carob, as is the case with the Algarve Moura.
There are Portuguese, Spanish, English, or American ones and this applies to both beers and nationalities, since yesterday many foreigners chose the Alameda Beer Fest to spend the evening and night.
In addition to the program published below, there is also the presentation and tasting of the first Farense beer: The girl, at 18:30 pm, in the space for the showcookings.
The doors of the enclosure open at 17:00 pm.
