Em Faro, it smells good, it smells like Ria's freshly cooked seafood

Feast of Ria Formosa 2016The stoves are on, the plates very hot and the pans full of delicacies that make your mouth water. And if the eyes also eat, the first sense to taste the typical dishes based on seafood that have been served since yesterday at the Feast of Ria Formosa, in Faro, it's really the smell.

Perhaps attracted by the pleasant aroma of freshly cooked seafood, visitors began to compose the venue from an early age, even before the official opening of the event. And, at the time when the executive council of Faro, headed by mayor Rogério Bacalhau, and the president of the Association of Nurseries and Shellfish Producers of Ria Formosa (Vivmar) Vítor Lourenço have just made the traditional tour of the stalls, to kick off the party, there were already thousands of people in the enclosure.

It was like that on the first day and it is expected that it will be even better going forward, especially during the weekends. Taking this into account, the organization, in charge of Vivmar and the City Council, brought many extra chairs and tables, to try to accommodate everyone who goes to Largo de São Francisco, until the 4th of August.

Compared to the previous edition, there are few changes. «The quality remains the same as always and entry is free, as it always will be», assured Vítor Lourenço. Also the enclosure is similar to the previous year.

The big news is related to the musical poster, which has «some artists of greater weight, such as Rosinha and Irís». Musical entertainment will also be guaranteed by other local and regional artists.
