Tavira Geo and Paleontology GuideThere is a counter top with more than 1600 million years in a cafe in Tavira, made of a granitic rock, Rapakivi, coming from Finland, fossils with more than 100 million euros in the Convento do Carmo and gaps in the Museum of Tavira, despite the building is not damaged.

These are some of the curiosities that appear in the Tavira Urban Geology and Paleontology Guide, which will be presented on Wednesday, at 18 pm, at Centro Ciência Viva de Tavira.

The bilingual book, in Portuguese and English, by Luís Azevedo Rodrigues and Margarida Agostinho, aims to present the rocks and fossils that are part of churches, monuments and other buildings and urban facilities in the city of Tavira.

This is second volume in a series of three to be edited in 2016, about the Algarve cities with Centro de Ciência Viva. The Lagos guide was launched in February and a third one will still be published, relating to Faro.
