NERA – Business Association of the Algarve Region and the University of Algarve/CRIA concluded, on the 15th, a tour of eight public sessions to present the Project Internacionalizar+Algarve, held in the eight municipalities of the Algarve where the Baixa Territories are located. Density.
Taking place in São Marcos da Serra, Monchique, Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, Alte, Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Castro Marim and Alcoutim, these public presentation sessions were attended by more than 80 participants from companies that develop their activity in Low Density Territories.
These sessions were also attended by representatives of the Executive from the different municipalities involved, whose support, together with the collaboration of the Regional Local Development Associations, was decisive for the results achieved.
In addition to the presentation of the Internacionalizar+Algarve Project, these sessions provided an opportunity to sensitize businesspeople about the importance of internationalization for the competitiveness of their companies. The sessions also served to hear testimonies from companies operating in Low Density Territories and that already have experience in the internationalization of their goods and services.
Over the next few weeks, personalized meetings will be held with all the companies that have so far expressed an interest in participating in this project.
The promoters explain that, «based on the results of these personalized meetings, an assessment of the export potential of the companies involved will be made and the emergence of collective initiatives of inter-business cooperation will be encouraged, for the internationalization of goods and services produced in the region. On the other hand, international markets with potential for penetration will also be identified”.
Benefiting from the funding of the Support System for Collective Actions – Internationalization – Low Density, of the Algarve Regional Operational Program CRESC Algarve 2020, the Internationalizar+Algarve Project aims to enhance the success of the internationalization of SMEs located in the Low Density Territories of the Algarve and reinforce the international reputation of the Algarve brand.
