Fire Portimão_Rua António barbudo_2A fire in a one-story house and in a car on Rua António Barbudo, in the center of Portimão, this morning, frightened residents and caused damage, but there were no injuries or homeless.

In the house lives an elderly man who, despite the Portimão Council having made itself available to guarantee his food and sleep, he did not accept, according to Isilda Gomes, president of the Portimão Council, told our newspaper.

According to the mayor, the "fire started in a car and spread to the window and curtains" of the house.

CDS source told the Sul Informação that the alert was given at 10:54 am, "due to a fire in a house and in a car" and at 11:02 am, the flames were already extinguished.

The causes of the fire are unknown, but the Judiciary Police were there.

Ten vehicles and 21 operational were at the site, including firefighters, PSP, EDP, Municipal Civil Protection Service and the Judiciary Police.
