Algarve Makers Show_023D printers, robots, one of them with an almost human appearance, as well as other proposals in electronics, digital manufacturing, art, science and technology, all by Algarve “makers/makers”, were exposed yesterday afternoon in the riverside area of ​​Portimão, during the first edition of the Algarve Makers Show.

Anyone interested in robotics and electronics, including adults, young people and many children, had the opportunity to speak with the makers from the Algarve, present, namely Mário Saleiro and Fernando Cánovas, awarded in the last edition of the Lisbon Maker Faire with the distinction «Maker of Merit».

O Algarve Maker Show, promoted by the Municipality of Portimão and by the eLab Hackerspace, Faro, was one of more than 450 events held in cities in 28 European countries as part of the European Maker Week, an initiative of the European Commission and Startup Europe, which aims to promote this movement among the population, «in a celebration of makers (“doers”) and innovation across Europe'.
