new bridge of the aradeThe work to dismantle the scaffolding tunnel of the Ponte Nova east tower over the Arade River, between Portimão and Lagoa, will force traffic on the EN125 to be completely cut off for five hours, from Wednesday to Thursday night, announced the sub-concessionaire for the works on that road, Rodovias do Algarve Litoral (RAL).

Traffic will be diverted via Via do Infante/A22, a route that will be mandatory for heavy vehicles, since the only alternative, using the old section of the EN125 that passes through the city of Portimão and Estômbar, can only be used by vehicles light.

Only the detour implemented by Via do Infante will be marked and will be accompanied by the GNR traffic division, he told the Sul Informação source of RAL.

Despite this obligation to detour on the A22, especially for lorries, the tolls will not be suspended while the EN125 cut lasts.

What matters is that the cut will be, after all, short and will take place at night, at hours usually with less road traffic. Thus, the traffic will be completely cut off between 21:00 pm on Wednesday, the 8th, and 2:00 am on Thursday, the 9th. the source of RAL.
