kartingThe three Portuguese players involved in the European Karting Championship had similar behavior, as they all gained places in the races they took part in, held over the weekend at Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.

In the OK Category race, which ended the program, Andriy Pits (CRG/Parilla/Vega) started from 13th, came to 11th, but, on the last lap, lost one position, while Tomas Mota (Tony Kart/Vortex/Vega) , who started 24th, won nine places, and finished 15th, after intense duels, in the group he was involved in.

The race was won by Englishman Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla / Vega), who took the lead on the fourth lap, to spend the remaining 16 resisting the attacks of his compatriot Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM Racing / Vega), the only one runner up who was less than a second off the winner.

Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG/Parilla/Vega) completed the podium, ahead of his compatriot Marta Lopez (Evokart/Parilla/Vega), who, in the final, did not confirm the superiority shown in the previous days.

With a back-to-back race, Simão Ventura (Exprit/Vogue Vega) won seven places over the course of the Academy Category race, starting by winning one position by laps in the first four, which took him to 21st place on the grid. 18th in the race to gain three more positions two laps later.

The Portuguese driver remained in the fight in a compact group, coming down to 17th, but on the last lap he gained three positions and finished 14th.

The race was won by the Belgian Xavier Handsaeme (Exprit/Vogue Vega) who got the better of the duel with the Englishman Callum Bradshaw (Exprit/Vogue Vega), who retains command of the championship, after the Lithuanian Kasparas Vaskelis (Exprit/Vogue Vega) , who completed the podium, have commanded in the first six laps.

From then on, the Belgian, who dominated the category over the weekend, "fled" from his pursuers, with the Lithuanian not resisting the final attack by the Englishman.

Frenchman Victor Martins (Kosmic/Parilla/Vega) won, without great difficulty, the race reserved for the Junior Category, making the best use of the fights that were being fought behind him and which allowed him to gain ground against his opponents.

A beautiful race by Brazilian Caio Collet (Birel Art/Parilla/Vega), who started from 11th, but who, after a remarkable recovery, managed to reach second place, with Malaysian Mizzuddin Musyaffa (DR/TM Racing/Vega) completing the On the podium, Norwegian Dennis Hauger (CRG/Parilla/Vega) and Moroccan Sami Taoufik (FA Kart/Vortex/Vega) beat by a narrow margin.
