The small mountain town of Parises, in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, will host a meeting of popular poetry «in the mountain range» on Sunday, where the book by São Brás author Manuel José Dias Ramos will be presented «The Light of my thoughts ».
The author will be at the Centro de Convívio de Parises, from 15 pm onwards to launch his work and kick off the poetry meeting. A book that, according to Manuel Ramos, «reports our society, from the 00's to the present day, addressing various current themes such as, politics, love, war, art and work».
Born in Moinho de Fronteira, in the far north of the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, Manuel Ramos was an immigrant in France, but he never forgot his homeland. Now retired, he decided to devote himself to an old passion, poetry, whose works he brings together in this book of poetry.
The book is an edition of the Jornal Notícias de São Bráz which has the support of the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, «in a continuous investment in the appreciation of popular culture and in the various forms of expression of São Brasenses that preserve the local memory» , according to the municipality.
