Film with John Hurt shot in Loulé_1The renowned British actor John Hurt is part of the cast of a film that will be shot, mostly, in the municipality of Loulé. The team for the international film “That Good Night”, by Eric Styles, has already started filming and will remain in the Algarve city for the next few days.

The choice of the Algarve council to film this work resulted from the work of the Algarve Film Office, created about a year ago, which, like Câmara de Loulé, supports the production of 'That Good Night'.

This structure, since its creation, «has contributed to the promotion of the municipality as a destination for the production of Cinema, Television, Advertising and Photography, already obtaining a remarkable financial return for the region», according to the Câmara de Loulé.

This film focuses on the reunion between a father and a son and marks the return of John Hurt to cinematographic recordings after being diagnosed with cancer.

Film with John Hurt shot in Loulé_4Sir John Hurt is a multifaceted actor with a long career, who has participated in dozens of films and series in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. He was nominated twice for an Academy Award, once as a leading actor in David Lynch's iconic “The Elephant Man”, released in 1980, and the other as a supporting actor for his performance in the 1978 film “The Midnight Express” .

Despite not having won the Oscar, he received important awards for these two roles, namely the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor, in «O Expresso da Meia-Noite», and the BAFTA for Best Actor, in «O Homem Elefante».

A recent example of the actor's appearances on the big screen is the role of Mr. Ollivander in the popular Harry Potter saga.

In addition to John Hurt, Sophia Helin, Max Brown and Erin Richards are part of the cast of the film that is currently being shot in Loulé.

The team of «That Good Night» has been filming in the Historic Center of the city of Loulé and in the village of Monte Seco for days and, according to what was discovered by the Sul Informação, will still film in other places in the county, namely in the Municipal Market. The collection of images, in Loulé, will take five weeks.
