The Secretary of State for Culture visited the Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório this morning, in Silves, and was received by the mayor, Rosa Palma.

Isabel Botelho Leal's entourage also included the regional director of Cultura Alexandra Gonçalves, as well as Carlos Vargas, president of the Artistic Production Organization (OPART), which oversees the National Theater of S. Carlos, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra and the Company National Ballet.

The Secretary of State made contact with the installations and also got to know a little more about the history of this building and historical and emblematic cultural space in the city of Silves, which reconciles the memories of the old theaters with the new technical demands of the show.

The visit was accompanied by the vice president Mário Godinho, the councilor for Culture Luísa Conduto Luís, the head of the Culture, Tourism and Heritage Division, Pedro Garcia, and the coordinator of the Culture sector, Carlos Rocha.

This was the last of the visits scheduled as part of a tour that Isabel Botelho Leal made this week to theaters in the Algarve region, which recently joined together, creating the Blue Network.
