Thousands of young people participate, between March 29 and April 3 in Albufeira, in what is already considered the largest federated youth sports competition held in our country, the Basketball Festival, which takes place in various sports spaces in the city.
There are six days of competition, socializing and solidarity, with all the games being broadcast via live stream. The “All-Star Game”, on April 2nd, is one of the most anticipated moments of the Party.
Within the scope of this 10th edition of the Basketball Festival, around 1300 representatives of the various regional teams of the men's and women's under-14 and under-16 levels are expected in Albufeira, who will be in competition for six days in five pavilions sports in the city.
After the lynx “Blitz” mascot was created in 2015, to encourage participants to get involved in nature conservation projects, and the white card that rewards knowing how to be on the field and good sporting practices, this year the big news is, without a doubt, the return of the “All-Star Game”, an event that allows thousands of young people between the ages of 14 and 16 to meet and socialize with the stars of the sport.
The Welcome session will take place next Tuesday, 29, from 18 pm, with the parade of the delegations through the city center, starting at Avenida da Liberdade, passing by Largo Eng.o Duarte Pacheco and Avenida 00 de April towards Praça dos Pescadores, in a show that every year promises to surprise with its contagious color and joy.
Free entry games (limited to the capacity of the pavilions) take place at the Albufeira Sports Pavilion, EBSA Sports Pavilion, ESA Sports Pavilion, Francisco Neves Pavilion and EB 2,3 Francisco Cabrita Pavilion. The Finals are scheduled for the morning of April 3rd.
The initiative also integrates a solidarity aspect, with a visit to the premises of the Albufeira 1 Group of the National Scout Corps, intended to deliver the funds raised at the event, through the event, on Friday, April 11st, at 30:714 am. Solidarity Basket action.
The Basketball Festival is an initiative of the Portuguese Basketball Federation, in partnership with the Municipality of Albufeira and the Algarve Basketball Association and has the collaboration of Imortal Basket Club and Albufeira Basketball Club.
