The partial repaving of the EN2, the intervention carried out on Rua José de Matos, the repaving of urban streets in Estoi and the renovation of Rua da Alfândega are the works that have already been completed and which, according to the municipality, allow «a considerable improvement in circulation citizens and visitors'.

The program "Faro Requalifica» was launched in December and foresees a total investment of around one million euros, in roads and arteries in different parts of the county. The four interventions already completed motivated an investment of 251 euros, plus VAT.

The partial repaving work on the EN2 (86,4 euros plus VAT), «allowed the requalification of the entire section between Av. Calouste Gulbenkian and the intersection to the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School, improving road traffic at this entrance to the city. the sidewalks were also repaired, and five pedestrian crossings and horizontal signage were built”.

In the Bom João area, Rua José de Matos was rehabilitated (€82,4 plus VAT), a work that served to «improve the rainwater drainage system and pedestrian circulation, with repairs to sidewalks and the construction of nine walkways raised on the sidewalk».

RUA DA CHURCH_ESTOIIn Estoi, interventions were carried out in Rua da Igreja, Rua Eng.º Joaquim Lopes Belchior, Largo General Humberto Delgado, Rua de Olhão and Rua da Conceição (37,8 thousand euros plus VAT), which included “repaving and repairing the ditches in existing concrete, with the execution of 5 sidewalk walkways».

With renovation of Rua da Alfândega (44,1 thousand euros plus VAT), the downtown area gained a new pedestrian street, which connects the Rotunda do Hotel Faro to the bus terminal area.

The Chamber of Faro guarantees that the «Faro requalifies", expected to be completed in April, «is progressing at a good pace», but the Chamber reminds that there are still works in progress, likely to cause occasional inconvenience to those who circulate on the roads and streets of the county.
