Manuel João Vieira is a painter, writer, teacher, but he is also a musician and, from time to time, a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic. It is in a combination of these two last facets that he will be this Friday, at 22 pm, in Santo Estêvão, at Casa do Povo, for a Rally-Concert.
According to José Barradas, chairman of the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão, Manuel João Vieira, who has worked in that room before, returns for “a rally-concert, which turns out to be a satire, it's playing with what the Presidentials are, but it is also a way of reflecting, because all his work revolves around reflection on society».
This reflection is made «playing through a humor, sometimes caustic. He manages to give us points of view and perspectives that he otherwise would not be able to”.
Therefore, José Barradas challenges the audience to attend a concert that «will be a lot of fun, on the one hand, but with a very important message».
Tickets for Manuel João Vieira's concert at Casa do Povo in Santo Estêvão cost 5 euros.
After Santo Estêvão on Friday, Candidate Vieira continues – and ends – his “campaign”, on Saturday, in Faro, with another concert-rally scheduled for the Sociedade Recreativa Artística Farense, at 22:30.
For the third time, Manuel João Vieira was unable to gather the necessary signatures to formalize his candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic, but Vieira “only gives up if he is elected”.
