al-Mutamid-alpharabius-ensemble-pressThe Alpharabius Ensemble, a collective of Arab and Andalusí music and oriental dance, is going to perform at the Municipal Auditorium in Olhão, on Saturday, the 30th, at 21:30 pm, closing the January program of that space.

The show is part of the 16th Al-Mutamid Festival, which this year passes through Lagoa, Almada, Albufeira, Silves, Lagos, Loulé and Olhão, between January 29th and February 20th.

Composed of elements from Morocco and Syria, the group Alpharabius Ensemble emerged with the aim of interpreting and making known some of the jewels of Arabic cultured music: Samai, Wasla, Moaxaja, Mawals, Taksims, as beautiful as they are unknown to Westerners.

This group also has the intervention of an oriental dance dancer, thus achieving a show full of color and beauty, which conveys the sensuality of the ball, together with the music.

The collective is composed by Youssef Mezgheldi, in the kanun (Arabic citara), Otman Yacoubi, the voice and interpreter of the Arab lute, Salah Eddin in the darbouka, bendir and riq, and the ballerina Zeina.
