Step by step descend from Degrees_1Students in the 10th grade D class of João de Deus Secondary School celebrated the agreement against global warming, obtained at the COP 21 Climate Summit, with the happyning «Step by step we descend (de)degrees».

Yesterday, Monday, at 8:20 am, students from Faro placed more than 130 pairs of shoes on the main staircase of the school, including their own, and invited colleagues, staff and teachers to remove their shoes, to join them in the installation.

"The astonishment caused by the recipients of the message soon gave way to the understanding of the message, as the slogan above the stairs was accompanied by the logo of the Climate Summit that ended this past weekend", described Ana Lúcia Correia, the teacher responsible for the initiative .

The COP21 images broadcast by the media were the starting point of this initiative, “which is part of a responsible educational project, open to education based on values and citizenship”.

The objective of this action, which had a surprising effect on the school community, was to «reinforce the impact of the aforementioned summit and encourage citizens to adopt behaviors that contribute to the success of political commitments in the construction of a sustainable environment».
