IMG_0332@ana luandina (Medium)Clã will be in Loulé this Saturday, at 21 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, to present their latest album, and the band's expectations are high, for what will be one of the last concerts on the “Corrente” tour. Vocalist Manuela Azevedo guarantees that it will be an «intense» show and with many differences in relation to the one the band presented in Tavira, in the summer.

In conversation with Sul Informação, Manuela Azevedo explained that Tavira's concert «was a summer concert, in a different venue, with a more varied repertoire, with songs from other records as well. We even opted not to have chairs so people could jump and dance. This concert at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, is in a quieter and more intimate space and the concert will have almost all the songs from the new album, but it will also have songs from others, because we like to give concerts with a generous duration and only this record will not he arrives".

IMG_1089 press release-coÌ-pia@ana luandina (Medium)The current album was released in 2014 and, after a disc more dedicated to children – Disco Voador, the differences are many. «After an innovative project, such as “Disco Voador”, this is a totally different album, almost in counter-current, with what was the previous one. It is a more mature album, again with the collaboration of Carlos Tê, Sérgio Godinho, Arnaldo Antunes, Regina Guimarães and John Ulhoa, and new collaborations with Samuel Úria and Nuno Prata. It is a more mature territory, more poetic, about human relationships and about what links us to others and to the world».

This is also a more “rocker” record, according to Manuela Azevedo, who unveiled a little of what Saturday's concert could be: “it's a more physical record, with more raw sounds on guitars and percussion, with more rock energy. At the concert, there will be room for everything, rock music doesn't mean it's fast and frantic. The songs have the energy and violence of rock, and a rawer way of talking about things. It's going to be an intense spectacle, but maybe instead of people dancing and jumping, they're going to bury themselves in the chair [laughs]. At other times, they might take a dance step. There is room for everything», he added.

IMG_1152-coÌ-pia@ana luandina (Medium)The reception of the current album has been good by the public, even though we are in difficult times for the “consumption” of music and Manuela Azevedo hopes that, in the Algarve, the same will happen. “We are in very complicated years, years of crisis, and you have to make choices to buy a record, or go to a concert. The space that exists for cultural dissemination is also small. We had complicated expectations, but things went well, and we had, since the album's release, a portfolio full of concerts. We're selling some records - because now there are other possibilities to listen to music: or through streaming, or people go pirating here and there… But we're also convincing some people to buy the discs at the concerts we're giving».

The Clã already have a long career and have been on stages in the Algarve several times. The vocalist has fond memories of the concerts and the public in the region: «one of the first times we were here was at an academic party. We played before Xutos e Pontapés, and it was a great party! Xutos' concert was amazing, I remember what we were watching from the top of the stage, and I have a wonderful memory. Then, on the different tours, we performed in various rooms, such as Teatro das Figuras, and I have very good memories. The people of the Algarve are attentive people, generous in their applause, that's the idea I have,” says Manuela Azevedo.

Finally, the artist made an invitation, through the Sul Informação, for those who have not yet decided whether to go to the Cine-Teatro Louletano: «we are reaching the end of the tour and this will be one of the last auditoriums we will pass through. It will be special for us and it will be better with a lot of people on the other side. If you want to come and celebrate with us, we will be very happy», concluded Manuela Azevedo.
