Poster (1)The book “Apontamentos da Margem” will be presented this Friday at the Municipal Library of Alcoutim. The presentation of the work written by the Poets of Guadana is part of the initiative “A Palavra Sexta à Noite”, monthly gatherings that open the doors of the Library at night with the aim of providing evenings of a cultural nature.

According to the Municipality of Alcoutim, the cross-border group “Poetas do Guadiana” is “comprised of poets and writers, with greater or lesser notoriety” and “emerged from a civic movement that seeks to culturally characterize the area at the tips of the Algarve's uprising in Portugal and the the Andalusian West of Spain as a meeting point for cultures».

The movement “does not cling to a school, a current, any other literary project other than stimulating creativity and the emergence of literary vocations. There is, within the group, complete freedom for each member to participate in their own way, with their own style and taste, across the border, while continuing to progress in each of the individual creative projects literary and follows its own direction and trend», adds the municipality.

The book “Apontamentos da Margem” is written by 23 authors who have in common “the fact of having collaborated with the “Poets of the Guadiana” movement (in anthologies, reading sessions and book presentations) and the desire to continue participating in different types of publications that promote the territory, the region and cross-border sharing”.

“Apontamentos da Margem” «traces the itinerary of the Lower Guadiana with poetic words coming from the councils of Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António through 20 authors»: Ana Francisco, Anabela Santos Silva, Ângela Mascarenhas, António Cabrita, António Machado , Augusto Lourido, Cidália André, Graziela Costa, Hugo Pena, João Pereira, João Viegas, José Estêvão Cruz, Judite Viegas, Manuel Palma, Maria Luísa Francisco, Paula Amaro, Pedro Tavares, Sónia Luísa, Susana Castro and Susana Travassos.

These authors are joined by Helena Cristina, Manuela Sabino and Paula Laranjo, representatives of the municipalities of Tavira, Olhão and Faro.
