RACHMANINOFF_A4Pianist António Rosado interprets works by Rachmaninoff in a concert at the Auditório Municipal de Lagoa, on October 3rd, at 21 pm.

The concert marks World Music Day, which is celebrated on October 1st, having been established in 1975 by the International Music Council, founded in 1949 by UNESCO, which brings together various organizations and individuals from the world of music, with the aim of promoting art music in all sectors of society, spread musical diversity, encouraging peace and friendship between people, the evolution of cultures and the exchange of experiences.

António Rosado has a career recognized nationally and internationally, a corollary of his talent and taste for diversity, expressed in an extensive pianistic repertoire that includes works by composers as diverse as Georges Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Albéniz or Liszt.

She performed on stage for the first time at age 4. The musical studies he began with his father continued at the National Conservatory of Music in Lisbon, where he finished the Superior Piano course, with 20 points.

At the age of 16, he leaves for Paris, where he studies at the Superior Conservatory of Music and takes advanced courses in Siena and Biella (Italy). In 1980, he made his debut in concert with the Orchester National de Toulouse and since that date he has played with numerous international orchestras and notable conductors.

He has also performed in chamber music with prestigious musicians. Awarded by the Maurice Ravel International Academy and the Perosi International Academy, António Rosado was distinguished by the Vianna da Motta International Competition and by the Alfredo Casella International Competition in Naples.

These awards are international recognition of his virtuosity and the impetus for a brilliant career, with recitals and concerts throughout the world, and participation in various festivals. In the 90s, he was the pianist chosen by TF1 to record and broadcast three programs.

His first album was recorded in the 80s, in Paris, followed by others, namely: the works for piano by Vianna da Motta; a commemorative CD of the 150th anniversary of Liszt's visit to Lisbon; Schumann's Fantasy; the Liszt Sonata; the Sonatas for Piano and Violin by Brahms (with violinist Gerardo Ribeiro) and Mozart in Norway (with pianist Artur Pizarro).

With the Hamburg NDR Sinfonieorchestra, he recorded Concerto No. 2 and Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini by Rachmaninov. Recently, he recorded the two Brahms Concertos with the Orquestra Nacional do Porto and the complete Sonatas for piano by Fernando Lopes Graça.

The 3rd day concert is for over 6 years old. Tickets cost 10 euros and are on sale at the Convento de S. José and the Municipal Auditorium of Lagoa.
