Good Hope CaravelThe Algarve Tourism Region will join the commemorations of the 600th anniversary of the taking of Ceuta, a historic episode that marks the beginning of the Portuguese Discoveries.

The entity will welcome the delegation of «Invicta -Rota do Infante», a motorcycle trip between Porto and Ceuta, which left on Sunday and will ride the road until the 23rd of August.

The ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, at 18 pm, at the wharf where the Boa Esperança Caravel is anchored, at Ribeira de Bensafrim, in Lagos. In addition to an official ceremony, which will be attended by the president of RTA Desidério Silva, the initiative provides for "animation through historical scenographies, among other activities."

The «Invicta – Rota do Infante» is a journey of historical matrix «that privileges the cultural adventure and the experience of sensorial experiences, uniting between the starting point (Porto) and the arrival (Ceuta) all the places where Infante D .Henrique had a strong presence», according to Turismo do Algarve.

Lagos is one of the key points on this route, as it was the last stopover by the Portuguese Armada before it left to conquer Ceuta, in 1415.
