A young German tourist, aged 17, fell yesterday afternoon from a balcony on the 3rd floor of a building in Meia Praia, Lagos, having been seriously injured.
To what Sul Informação found that the young woman suffered injuries to both legs, with fractures, possible injuries to the cervical spine and abrasions on the face, having been assisted on the spot by the Lagos Immediate Life Support team and by the Lagos Fire Department.
The German teenager was first transported to the Portimão unit of the Centro Hospitalar do Algarve, after which she was transferred to the Hospital de Faro, where she is still hospitalized, in the Pediatrics Service, according to a hospital source confirmed to the Sul Informação.
The fall took place at 18:30 pm, in a building at the back of Rua Fernão Vilarinho, in that tourist area, where the tourist was on vacation with her father and younger sister.
Police authorities are investigating the circumstances of the fall, and it is not yet known whether it was due to an accident.
During this summer, this is at least the third fall with serious consequences for tourists in the Algarve, after the death of a young French woman in Praia da Rocha, on August 1st, and serious injuries to a young man, two nights ago, after falling off the cliff in the area of bars, also in Praia da Rocha.
