A fire has been raging in a wooded area, in the town of Montinho da Rebolada, in Vaqueiros, Alcoutim, since late this afternoon.
The fire alert was given at 18:16 pm and the fire had two fronts, which had already been reduced to just one at around 20 pm.
Contacted by Sul Informação, the CDOS revealed that at that time there were 57 operational, supported by 13 vehicles and two air assets, a light helicopter and a medium one, fighting the flames.
The fire was not threatening property or people, adding that, despite the fact that the air assets were about to be withdrawn, due to the approach of night, there was no forecast “need to reinforce the assets that are already on the ground”.
