The 2015 edition of the Seafood Festival ended this Sunday in the best possible way, with Daniela Mercury bringing to life the thousands of people who filled the grounds of Jardim Pescador Olhanense for the final night of the event.
Accompanied by three dancers, the Brazilian singer showed why she is nicknamed the “Hurricane of Bahia”, having dragged the audience with her in a wave of music, dance and good mood.
The enthusiasm of the fans even made Daniela Mercury perform for almost three hours, to the delight of many admirers.
Also the night before, August 14, José Cid gathered grandparents, children and grandchildren around the stage, and everyone sang in unison the successes of the singer and composer, who is one of the biggest names in Portuguese music.
During his visit to Olhão, he even interpreted themes alluding to the city and adapted others, to the delight of the people from Olhão present there.
This year, in addition to Daniela Mercury and José Cid, Mickael Carreira, Richie Campbell, Fado & Further and Anselmo Ralph were also on stage. Names that allowed the creation of an eclectic poster with people of different ages to be captivated for the biggest musical and gastronomic event in the south of the Tagus.
«Musical animation and seafood were once again, side by side, the two main reasons for attracting the public, in an event that proved to be, 30 years after the first edition, renewed and reinvented», stresses the Chamber of Olhão, in a press release .
«Projecting the Ria Formosa, the city and the municipality of Olhão and making known the knowledge of its people are the constantly renewed objectives of the Festival, which annually attracts tens of thousands of visitors, who find the best in the Seafood Festival the sea and the Ria Formosa have to offer», adds the municipality.
«What started as a small event organized by the two local clubs – Sporting Clube Olhanense and Marítimo Olhanense – on Avenida da República, precisely 30 years ago, has become one of the great gastronomic and musical events in the South of the country», he concludes. .
