Jorge Botelho, president of the Chamber of Tavira, explained to Sul Informação that, «at this time of summer, many people come and want to have culture available to all audiences and ages. The program formally begins on the 3rd and runs until September, culminating with the Mediterranean Diet Fair and then with the Cinco Noites, Cinco Sols Festival. Every day, on every occasion, we are going to have a show».

About XI Cenas na Rua – International Festival of Theater and Arts in the Street, the mayor emphasizes that «this is the only festival of circus and street art that currently exists in the Algarve».

The event will have the presence of national and international groups and artists and begins on Friday with the performance of French Cie Barolosolo, from France, at 22 pm, at Praça da República. This will be «a production wet with antics and poetic scenes», in which one clown starts the performance with his feet in the water and another tries at all costs to avoid it. For Sunday, the program continues with gastronomy, with the action “Cooking in the Landscape”, by Plataforma Palato, at Rua Borda d'Água da Asseca, next to the River Gilão, at 18:30 pm. According to Câmara de Tavira, this is «a gastronomic spectacle that, under the baton of the plastic artist and cook Jorge Rocha, takes place with the landscape as a backdrop and addressing themes that place the gastronomy of each period in the intersection with the eating habits of the region. society".
