NIC LouléThe Loulé GNR arrested a 52-year-old man in Almancil for drug trafficking this Wednesday. In the operation that led to the capture of the drug dealer, who was selling the product at his home, a few meters from a school, the military seized 1192 doses of cocaine, 1351 doses of hashish and 103 doses of heroin.

The investigation at the Criminal Investigation Nucleus of Loulé had already been going on for about two months and “succeeded in the execution of a warrant for a house search of the person's residence, located in one of the main arteries of the town of Almancil”.

In the search for the drug dealer's house, the Special Operations Intervention Group of the GNR Intervention Unit participated, and, in addition to the drug, which was hidden in various packages in various places in the house, «four mobile phones, two LCD televisions were seized and also 200 euros'. The GNR also identified several users who had already bought or were going to buy drugs from the detainee.

The detained man had a suspended sentence for drug trafficking, and has a criminal record for crimes of murder, kidnapping, serious offenses to physical integrity and possession of an illegal weapon. The GNR believes it has "made a strong contribution to the fight against drug trafficking in the parish of Almancil".

The detainee was already present at the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of the Public Ministry of Loulé and was placed in preventive detention.
