diving in the underwater park“A Dive in Portimão Underwater Park – Ocean Revival” is the theme of the exhibition that opens on July 4th, at 18 pm, at the Portimão Museum, consisting of a set of 00 panels with photographs by Augusto Salgado, Fátima Martins, Jorge Godinho and João Encarnação.

Created about three miles from Alvor beach, the underwater park is a pioneer in Portugal and the images in this exhibition are an invitation to dive and get to know this project a little better.

The exhibition aims to illustrate the evolution of the artificial reef inaugurated two years ago, after the sinking of four Portuguese Navy warships linked by a common history.

The Ocean Revival Project was born with the aim of promoting underwater tourism in the region, creating for divers a large artificial reef, unique in the world, with ideal conditions for the proliferation of marine life.

This exhibition will run until the 30th of August and was organized by Associação Musubmar, together with the Museum of Portimão.

Connected to the project since its inception, the Portimão Museum, on the occasion of the sinking of the last ship, inaugurated the nucleus of the Underwater Park in its cistern. This is a space in the form of a “submarine”, which provides visitors to the Museum with a “dive” through the Underwater Park of Portimão.
