The team from the Grupo Desportivo de Lagoa won, last night, the Algarve Cup in football. The Lagoense team outranked Ferreiras – this year relegated from the National Seniors Championship to the District, in the penalty shootout, in a match held at the Estádio de S. Luis, in Faro.
The game ended goalless and in the penalty shootout, Lagoa was stronger and won the trophy for the second time.
The victory allows Lagoa to qualify for the Portuguese Cup in the next sporting season.
