SC FarenseIt doesn't give a cup or ribbons, but it always gives pride a boost. Farense thrashed Feirense by 4-1 this Sunday, in the last game of the season, and secured the "title" of best team in the Algarve, in the 2014/15 edition of the II league.

In the overall standings, the team Faro was in 11th position, ahead of Portimonense and Olhanense, who finished, respectively, in 14th and 16th.

The last game of the season would hardly change anything, as both teams had guaranteed maintenance and only Feirense still had a chance to move up, very remote (the results of the frontrunners dictated that not even a victory would be worth the Northern team).

The big attraction, from a regional perspective, was knowing if the Faro would be able to do better than Portimonense, which had ended its participation in the II League with a draw, this Saturday.

Despite the outcome being clearly favorable to the Algarvians, it was Feirense who took the lead after 10 minutes. Luiz Phellype's goal was the only one that was celebrated in the first half and the break came with the home team at a disadvantage.

In the second part, everything changed. Farense came in with a desire to change the result and soon achieved it. First Harramiz, in the 46th minute, and then Irobiso, in the 53rd minute, completed the comeback. The home side extended the advantage on 69 minutes, by Mailó, and sealed the final result a minute later, on 70 minutes, when Edinho Júnior also enjoyed the ball.

Farense added three more points to what they had already achieved and ended the 2014/15 II League championship with 62 points and in 11th position. O Portimonense was ranked 14th, with 60 points added and the Olhanense ended the season in 16th position, with 55 points.
