The University of Algarve (UAlg) is at Futurália 2015 – Educational Offering, Training and Employability Exhibition, at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL) in Parque das Nações, from 11 to 14 March.
In this edition of Futurália, the stand under the motto “studying where it's good to live” will privilege the dissemination of the entire initial training offer, clarifying the doubts of potential candidates to UAlg.
The representation of UAlg at this event also includes the official presentation of the “2015 Summer Courses”, which will take place from June 29th to July 10th. Aimed at young people in secondary education (from 16 years old), their main objective is to promote a taste for the various areas of teaching and research at UAlg and help them in the process of choosing their path in higher education.
This initiative also enables the experience of the academic reality of the campuses and contact with students and teachers at UAlg, thus providing a different and unique experience for all participants.
After the success achieved last year, the 2015 edition repeats the offer in residential and non-residential regime and the teaching activities take place, for the most part, in the morning, with several recreational and sporting activities being scheduled in the afternoon.
In parallel, there will be a privileged space for the dissemination of the 4th edition of the “UAlg Excellence Scholarships” which, together with a large group of companies, offer a monetary prize to the best students who enter this university, rewarding and recognizing merit and the academic excellence of the students.
This initiative aims to secure the best students in the country in this region and has, at present, an added importance given the difficulties that families are facing to bear the burden of their students, especially when they have to move out of their respective homes .
This pecuniary award has already materialized in the attribution of more than a hundred scholarships, in a value that already exceeds 100 euros, thus rewarding the best students who enrolled in the various courses offered by UAlg.
For the University of Algarve, participating in these educational exhibitions is «an opportunity to make its offer known in a structured way, showing visitors that it has different options for the construction of its training path».
