Manuel Joao VieiraThe musician Manuel João Vieira, the face and voice of «Ena Pá 2000», will be in the Algarve on March 6th and 7th to lead two concerts, at Casa do Povo in Santo Estevão, in Tavira, and at Sociedade Recreativa e Artística Farense (The Artists), in Faro, respectively.

Famous for his irreverence, Manuel João Vieira is nevertheless «considered by a lot the best Portuguese musician of all time». Over the many years of his career, he founded not only the well-known “Ena Pá 2000”, but also the projects “Irmãos Catita” and “Corações de Atum”, of which he was also the vocalist.

The musician promises to «"enchant" and delight everyone present with well-known themes from his vast and incomparable repertoire», on this visit to the Algarve, which will take him for the first time to perform in Tavira.

 

Manuel João Gonçalves Rodrigues Vieira:

He studied at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts. He was founder and vocalist of the bands Ena Pá 2000, Irmãos Catita and Corações de Atum, created and embodied several characters on stage, such as Lello Universal, Orgasmo Carlos, Catita, among others.

A fictional biography of hers was the subject of a series of six episodes entitled Mundo Catita, broadcast exclusively on RTP2 in 2008, edited on DVD in 2009 and shown on SIC Radical in December 2010.

He was a member of the Homeostético movement, together with Pedro Proença, Pedro Portugal, Ivo Silva, Xana and Fernando Brito. He was also the owner of Cabaret Maxime, near Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon. In 2011 he announced his candidacy for President of the Republic. He is the eldest son of the renowned Portuguese painter João Rodrigues Vieira. He is a professor at the Superior School of Arts and Design in Caldas da Rainha.
