The Orquestra Clássica do Sul and the Municipality of Loulé are promoting the second edition of the “Loulé Classical” cycle, five shows that will present the entirety of the Concerts for Piano and Orchestra by Ludwig van Beethoven.
The first concert is scheduled for February 20, at 21 pm, at Cineteatro Louletano, in Loulé, where pianist Daniel Rodríguez Hart will perform Concerto Nº30 for Piano and Orchestra, under the musical direction of Principal Conductor Rui Pinheiro, who will direct all concerts in this cycle.
Between February and December, Cineteatro Louletano will stage these five masterpieces by the genius composer and pianist Beethoven that have marked the history of music, performed by five brilliant young and promising Portuguese pianists: Daniel Rodríguez Hart, Pedro Gomes, Joana Vieira, João Bettencourt da Câmara and Vasco Dantas.
From the Classicism of the first two Concertos – influenced by Haydn and Mozart – to Romanticism, from the third onwards, these works reflect a new relationship between piano and orchestra, the latter playing an increasingly predominant role, rather than being a mere accompaniment of the soloist.
Daniel Rodríguez Hart began his musical studies at the age of seven in the piano specialty at the Alejandro García Carturla Conservatory in Havana, Cuba, having started his solo activity at the age of 13.
Among the various awards it has won in various national and international competitions, the first place in the most recent edition of the Young Musicians Award stands out.
Another highlight is the “À Conversa com…” space, which takes place in the period before the show (between 21 pm and 00:21 pm) and where the public has the opportunity to socialize with a conductor or soloist.
