Algarve Regional Directorate of Culture already has new website

The address is the same - www.cultalg.pt - but the content and appearance are quite different. As of this Thursday, 18 December, the new institutional website of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve is online.

Among the main news on this website, which had been presented to the public on the 17th of October, at the Fortaleza de Sagres, is the access to the contents of the monuments related to that Regional Directorate, which can now be done from the same address or directly to the website www.monumentosdoalgarve.pt.

With the graphic design developed by Tiago Ferreira, as part of the internship in the Communication Design course, at the Superior School of Education and Communication, University of Algarve, the new site resulted from the need felt by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve to change in regarding the “old site” with over fifteen years of existence. The idea was “to modernize the image, confer attractiveness, dynamism and above all greater interactivity with the visitor/user, through concentrated information and easier access to content”.

The technical aspects of the site were developed by the company VérticeData – Sistemas Informáticos, Lda.

In addition to institutional information and links to websites of other organizations and institutions, micro-sites will be available with information on the monuments assigned to the Regional Directorate, on the DiVaM program, on the promotion of monuments, links to tourist and cultural itineraries – Rota de Al- Mutamid, Route of the Umayyads, Route Descubriter/Portal dos Descobrimentos – and on the Regional Prize «Maria Veleda».

Highlights and newsletters will publicize events, activities of cultural agents in the region and other actions with themes of cultural interest.

In the future, there will also be an online store for the purchase of merchandising products from the Algarve's monuments and editions of the Regional Directorate and, thinking of other public bands, a virtual library will be available with a connection to the Library and Documentation Center of the Regional Directorate with links to others organisms.
