In a statement, Luís Miguel Martins stresses that "in nothing" is seen in the "conduct" of municipal deputies Fernando Imaginário, Evelina Madeira and Filipe Silva, who, "on the contrary, I repudiate".

On the 17th of November, the Extraordinary Municipal Assembly that had been called potestatively by the opposition to debate the Civil Protection Tax was eventually canceled by lack of quorum, due to the absence of PS elements and three of the four PSD elements.

Only 11 were present. opposition elements (Coalition «Servir Portimão», Left Block, CDU and one of the PSD).

The social-democratic deputy from Portimo now explains, in a statement, that “I have never recognized, nor do I recognize a coalition between PS and PSD, including the own organs of the PSD declared null the same and all its effects».

Luís Miguel Martins adds that «Portimonenses and voters deserve to be respected and that their elected representatives present themselves in the bodies for which they were elected, or in case of impediment, replace them», defending that «any discussion and deliberation will necessarily have to be held in the Plenary of the Municipal Assembly organ, and not negotiated in the offices of the ruling power in Portimão».

In the communiqué, the social democrat guarantees that he will "always honor the position taken by the PSD/Portimão and its mayors in the last legislatures in relation to the ruling power in Portimão", pledging to "never betray it for personal or corporate interests." He concludes by saying that “the PSD has an ideal and ideas of its own”, so that it will “never” accept “a posture of subservience in relation to the regime that reigns in Portimão.
