Operation GNR Stadium AlgarveThe GNR drew up dozens of records and appointed 15 defendants, following a traffic inspection operation carried out last Sunday, in the vicinity of the Algarve Stadium.

The operation had «special incidence on cars with changes in characteristics and on vehicles referenced by the practice of the so-called Street racing», but also led to the seizure of hash pollen and the arrest of the 23-year-old in whose car it was found.

As revealed by the GNR, in a statement, Sunday's action "aimed at verifying administrative aspects relating to vehicles, their drivers and occupants." On the other hand, it sought to deter "deviant behaviors that could put themselves and other road users at risk."

In all, 112 vehicles and drivers were inspected. The GNR prepared “16 notices for the crime of dangerous driving”, in addition to “45 offenses for various infractions of the Highway Code and Regulatory Legislation”. In addition, "fifteen drivers were appointed defendants and subject to a Term of Identity and Residence".

The young man who was arrested for drug trafficking had, in his car, "enough hash pollen for 256 individual doses, mostly in the form of "acorn", in addition to other objects related to the cutting and preparation of the narcotic drug. .

In the operation, which had the collaboration of two inspectors from the Institute of Mobility and Transport of Faro, 52 soldiers from various GNR areas participated, namely from the territorial apparatus (Loulé Territorial Detachment), soldiers from the transit area (Transit Detachment of Faro) and maintenance of public order (Deployment of Intervention of Faro).

«This action is a reflection of the effort implemented by the Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR, with a view to guaranteeing road safety on the roads of the Algarve region under its responsibility, highlighting the preventive action achieved with the road patrol, complemented with actions of control and inspection of vehicles and drivers such as the one carried out now", concluded that police force.
