The president of the Algarve Tourism Region welcomed the Sul Informação with the five Michelin-starred restaurants in the Algarve for the year 2015.
Desidério Silva also showed his satisfaction with the fact that one of the restaurants – São Gabriel – had recovered the lost star last year.
«It's very good for the Algarve. We kept the stars we had last year and recovered the one from S. Gabriel. It is a good result and gives an image of excellence that is important for the region. It is important now to keep it so that, in the future, it can increase».
The Michelin Guide awarded stars to five restaurants in the Algarve: Ocean, by Armação de Pêra, by Austrian chef Hans Neuner and Vila Joya, in Albufeira, by Dieter Koshina, also from Austria, both with two stars, and also S. Gabriel, by chef Leonel Pereira, in Almancil, Henrique Leis, by the chef with the same name, also in Almancil, and Willie's, in Vilamoura, by Willie Wurger.
