birmingham_1ATP – Associação Turismo de Portimão and some of its associates with activities related to diving attended the Birmingham Dive Show 2014, the largest diving event in the United Kingdom, which took place on 25 and 26 October and was attended by 250 exhibitors from different countries.

The event, which has been taking place since 1991, was visited by about 15 000 people, and ATP was present with a 12 square meter stand, where the Ocean Revival Underwater Park was promoted, a unique project that includes four old ships provided by Portuguese Navy and which were deliberately sunk about 30 meters deep off Alvor.

The British market is the main source of this type of tourism, resulting in ATP's commitment to a strategy of product diversification and the conviction that diving in general and the Ocean Revival in particular are differentiating elements of the destination's offer and likely to generate tourist demand.

On the other hand, the consolidation of this unique product, in addition to the economic impact it has on the region, namely in the areas of accommodation, transport and restaurants, will also enable the leverage of other tourist activities linked to the sea.
